The organisation originally known as the World Wildlife Fund has simplified its name in recent years, surviving an acronym challenge from the World Wrestling Federation. It is now known as the "Worldwide Fund for Nature" everywhere in the world except the United States of America, where it is still called the World Wildlife Fund. The acronym however remains, universally, "WWF".
